For anyone familiar with Shabaka Hutchings, the idea behind this new short film should come as no surprise. Documenting three consecutive shows he played during one day at this year’s A Love Supreme, it’s a typical day’s work for the influential saxophone player and bandleader. Following him as he reflects on the thriving UK jazz scene and figures out makeshift instrument repairs in-between sets, we see him play with the three main bands he’s currently involved with: Shabaka and the Ancestors, Sons of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming.
